Job Description

The Financial Control (FC) team is key to developing and maintaining a strong control environment to ensure Financial Statements including the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss and Cash flow Statements are accurately and timely reported to all key stakeholders and the Group Board of Directors.

The Senior Finance Manager, who is a member of the FC team, has responsibility for the technical accuracy and completeness of financial information in the ERP system for all Regional legal entities. Williams Lea function costs are also reported in the Asia Pacific region.

This role will lead, manage and develop the Regional Controlling function as part of a cohesive, high performing APAC Finance team accountable for delivering a robust controlling function for all APAC entities ensuring timely, accurate and compliant delivery of financial information to all internal and external stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall understanding of end-to-end finance processes and ensure relevant internal controls are in place to provide management with assurance on the quality of information in the Workday ERP system.
  • Partner with the Corporate Controller and other regional controllers to implement and apply consistent and standardised global accounting practices and manage compliance with the same.
  • Partner with Tower leads for PTP, OTC, RTR and Reporting and the Controllers Network to identify opportunities and drive process improvements and compliance across region to deliver efficiencies and outcomes across the finance processes.
  • Partner with the Treasury team, PTP/OTC and business stakeholders to support the cashflow management, payment prioritisations and bank access/approvals
  • Co-ordinate with the Corporate Tax team to deliver the tax filing requirements across regions and interactions/relationship with audit vendors.
  • Partner with Group and Regional FP&A / Finance Business Partnering team to provide valuable inputs (and working with business partnering teams’ insights) on actual results to support management reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Partner with Finance Business Partners to understand components of customer gross profit and accuracy of reported results for each Service Line or Overhead function.
  • Provide management and oversight for all financial controlling and technical (tax and audit) accounting activities.
  • Provide management and oversight for compliance in tax related matters, ensuring all returns and other statistical information are submitted with high quality on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for implementing the audit framework objectives across the region and managing compliance to the framework.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance across the region to the global requirements of the Financial Data Model (FDM) as set out by the R2R.
  • Responsible for the regional accounting, consolidation and tax positions including management of the annual audit process.
  • Engagement with external auditors to ensure smooth flow of information to the audit process and swift resolution of issues.
  • Ability to actively contribute and provide leadership and inputs to strategic projects.

Job Requirements:

  • Experienced Finance professional, with a minimum 10 years PQE experience, with strong academics including a degree in Accounting or Finance from a reputable university with relevant accounting qualifications (CPA / CIMA / ACCA / ACA or similar)
  • Proven financial accounting, management accounting and reporting experience in a similar role in a large multinational company and has operated at a regional and group level with experience managing an outsourced/offshored service provider
  • Significant experience demonstrating technical, analytical and leadership capabilities; proven problem solver with effective communication and stakeholder management skills 
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines in a fast past and dynamic environment
  • Proven ability to create structure and demonstrate good planning to mitigate ambiguity and ever-changing priorities whilst maintaining focus and adding value to reported data.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and written skills in both English and Chinese. Familiarity with other languages is a plus, i.e. Japanese, Korean
  • Immediately available is preferred
