Job Purpose:

Support Department Head of Finance / Senior Manager in leading the accounting function related to investment accounting.  Ensure data integrity and full compliance with all relevant accounting requirements.  Help to prepare various internal reports & external regulatory reports for the life insurance business.

Main Responsibilities:

• Support the accounting function related to the investment accounting and valuation reporting, including the daily operation, accounting, reporting, monthly closing and reconciliation, etc.
• To ensure all transactions are properly recorded in accordance with HKFRS and HKIA requirements.
• To ensure proper controls are in place in investment system and maintain the necessary analysis for investment asset information.
• Support to prepare/review management accounts and other financial analyses.
• Support the preparation of year-end audit schedules, monthly financial statements, quarterly/yearly regulatory returns/statistics, and any ad-hoc requests.
• Support the formulation and implementation of accounting and internal control policies and procedures.
• Participate in system development projects and handle UAT.
• Liaise with auditors and internal stakeholders.

Incumbent Requirements:

• University graduate in Accounting / Finance; qualified accountant is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting and / or auditing experience in life insurance / fund industry; experience in investment accounting is preferred.
• Have extensive knowledge in investment accounting, sound accounting and regulatory knowledge.
• Able to work independently.
• Passionate about his/her job, mature with excellent presentation, interpersonal and management skills.
