Job Description
FINANCE OFFICE
Associate Accountant (Accounting Operations Section) (Ref. 220909002)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) handle daily accounting operations, including processing payments and journals for payroll, staff claims, MPF and other payments, following up with various units on payment matters, handling staff enquiries and dealing with matters on tax filing and clearance of staff;
(b) review subordinates’ work including verifying payment and related tax filing and ensuring compliance with the relevant statutory requirements, policies, rules and regulations;
(c) perform staff cost analysis and projection for the requirements of management and funding bodies;
(d) assist in the enhancement of the payroll, staff claims and related payments systems;
(e) handle general office administration; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
(a) a recognised degree in Accounting or related disciplines;
(b) a professional accounting qualification or equivalent is preferred;
(c) at least three years’ experience in accounting, auditing or other related fields, with experience in payroll operations and staff benefits being an advantage;
(d) some supervisory experience;
(e) proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
(f) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and
(g) good communication and interpersonal skills.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
