Job Description

Job Purpose:           

“To ensure accuracy of sales records, facilitate effective and efficient operation of the sales audit & control operation and monitor the process of account receivable accounts and safeguard the company’s revenue from loss and assets are identified and managed”.

Key Accountabilities:

In addition to following Lane Crawford’s policies and procedures, key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Sales Audit

  • To ensure that all sales are recorded in POS / related systems and posted to Oracle accurately
  • To ensure that sales proceeds are duly received and accounted for properly and on a timely basis
  • To draw red flag to Management auditing reports with highlight on exceptions and remedial actions for Management’s attention.
  • To monitor A/R collection process ensuring the completeness on settlement collection per trade terms
  • To reconcile and follow up the coupon/rebate receivables status from shopping malls/landlord event and promotional programs
  • To identify opportunities for improving check out process
  • To overview the operations of e-Business in sales and return cycle and payment process
  • To participate in developing e-Business opportunities and enhancement of payment cycle
  • To process online refund via Finance System for refund of e-Business transactions
  • To perform quarterly audit on Frequent Purchase Reward Program, exercise audit checking process detecting exceptions
  • To monitor investigation progress on doubtful VIP cases with store manager and keep track of post-audit follow up action

Accounting and Management Reporting

  • To maintain account ownership to review responsible accounts & clear any aged records constantly
  • To keep balance sheet review and perform reconciliation of accounts and schedules
  • To prepare schedules & aging analysis for audit and management account purposes timely
  • To process balance review persistently
  • To tie up the month-end closing schedule and management account preview
  • To review sales mapping tables consistently and update it instantly
  • To prepare routine and ad-hoc management audit reports and highlight exceptions for Management’s attention

Administration on Credit Card Account

  • To liaise credit card companies for the opening of new merchant account or additional branch accounts when necessary
  • To communicate with card centers conducting integration test, connectivity test and UAT test for acceptance of new payment tender or currencies

Office Administration

  • To take constant review on operations flow or accounting flow of Sales Audit and make recommendation to simplify any dummy flow
  • To prepare problem / enhancement log on systems and arrange meeting with Tech regularly to solve the issues
  • To take initiative to lead teammates in executing change management
  • To identify and facilitate opportunities for additional training for the team
  • To monitor and review performance of team, identifying individuals who are ready for promotion or require performance improvement plans

Job Requirement:

  • Degree holder in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Accounts Receivable / Sales Audit, preferably in the retail / FMCG industry
  • Pro-active and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills to build rapport with key stakeholders
  • Good organization, numerical, analytical and Excel skills
  • Strong team player to support other team members
  • High proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Word etc.
  • Good command of both spoken and written Chinese and English
  • Knowledge of Oracle would be a plus
  • Professional accounting qualification (HKICPA or equivalent professional qualifications) is highly preferable
