Role Purpose

  • Define the company-wide Talent Management framework, processes and approaches that will enable UO to pro-actively identify, manage and develop our diverse talent;
  • Design and facilitate talent development initiatives and programme relevant to development needs and to support achievement of our strategic drivers;
  • Champion and build manager/ leader capability to develop talent, including having effective career conversations and build practical development plan to be in use;
  • Work in close partnership with leaders and Business Partners to identifying current and future skills and capability gaps and implement cost-effective development solutions include external vendors selection and recommendation;
  • Champion diversity, equity and inclusion. Educate, challenge and influence the business to create balanced and effective teams with a diverse range of skills and experiences;
  • Develop the framework for the Graduate Trainee and Internship program across Business Units and drive the program management and attraction in collaboration with the broader People team as well as Customer & Brand team;
  • Collaborate and develop new innovative programme solution to build our long-term talent pipeline for specific functional areas;
  • Define and develop talent related metrics to measure success and value add to the organization’s talent agenda;
  • Introduce good practices in the operational execution of talent management.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources related field, or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum 6 years’ relevant experience of success within a similar role;
  • Professional qualification in personality and motivation assessment a strong advantage;
  • Proven experience of implementing effective talent management strategies for a diversified business environment, with solid examples of effective talent transformation;
  • Hands-on experience in designing and effectively executing motivating and engaging development programmes using engaging virtual and e-learning tools;
  • Able to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining strong judgment and attention to detail;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese languages;
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact, influence and build relationships at all levels;
  • Passionate about people development and the ability to engage, inspire and motivate others;
  • Detail-minded, easy to concentrate, and able to tell stories behind the numbers;
  • Creative, self-motivated, highly energetic, and presentable;
  • Collaborative, enjoy sharing ideas and a good team player;
  • Well-organized, independent, and able to multi-task.

Please note that with effect from 1 June 2022 onwards, all HK Express employees and contractors who work in Cathay House and all other Cathay Group Company premises in Hong Kong must have received a third dose of COVID 19 vaccine. Being tested regularly for COVID-19 is not an option. Consideration will be given to those who are unable to get vaccinated for valid medical reasons.
