• Our client is a prestigious top tier UK Law Firm with an expanding footprint in Hong Kong 
• They are now seeking a Risk and Compliance Manager for their Hong Kong office

Description

• Be the 'go to' expert on the Hong Kong Law Society's regulations, as well as first point of contact to handle queries on rules required of legal profession regulators in other jurisdictions
• Provide legal support to the business units regarding various products and services; review/manage/translate commercial contracts with key suppliers and other procurement support.
• Conduct compliance assessments for the firm's development and make suggestions on improvements (on standard forms, policies and procedures, Continuous Business Planning, etc) - areas of coverage include the regulatory aspects of matters such as anti-money laundering / HK Law Society regulations / SRA regulations/ Data Protection Laws
• Enhancing the firm’s compliance-related procedures in Hong Kong
• Handle queries from partners and fee earners, assist with conducing and documenting assessments for AML purposes
• Work with and support the firm's London compliance team, help roll out global policies and conduct monitoring exercises
• Deliver internal training on legal services/professional compliance and regulatory issues 

The Successful Applicant

• Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in compliance for an professional services MNC with sizeable operations in Hong Kong or international law firm 
• Knowledge of commercial matters (prior experience with data protection, employment law, HK Law Society or the UK's SRA regulations, would be a bonus)
• Fluent in written and spoken Chinese and English is a must
• Be able to multi-task, problem-solve, be well-organized and a good team player
