Job Description

Responsible for supporting the operation of the Arts Information Centre (AIC). Duties include developing the AIC collections and the creation of metadata to conform to the international standards; undertaking the archival and catalogue process to create an electronic catalogue for the AIC collections (include born digital and digitized materials) and assisting the development of the electronic catalogue system; training and supervising part-time clerk performing tasks in building AIC collections and working with AIC team to support outreach programmes and the operational services; providing administration duties and periodic progress reports to department and committees in relation to the AIC collections.

Requirements:

  • University degree, qualification in Library or Information Science or related disciplines, having knowledge of cataloging practices and procedures;
  • At least 2 years post-degree full-time working experience in public, academic or research library utilizing traditional and new library systems and techniques;
  • Solid experience in creating digital records and metadata, knowledge and good understanding of Hong Kong arts sector are in advantages;
  • Detail-minded, well organized, good interpersonal skills and analytical skills;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese;
  • Strong sense of responsibility, self-motivated, meticulous and well-organised;
  • Proficiency in computer skills and good knowledge in mastering Excel is preferred.
