The Opportunity:

Agoda is seeking a Procurement Director to lead the procurement function for the brand. You will report directly to the CFO of Agoda and have a dotted line to the Global Procurement Leader at Booking Holdings.

As this is a new role at Agoda, you will have the opportunity to build the function from scratch. You will be able to analyze current processes and spend, consult with multiple stakeholders across the brand and at Group level, recommend the way forward in terms of procurement strategy, policies, processes, organizational structure and tools, define an implementation plan and then ensure smooth execution of the agreed roadmap and delivery of savings for the brand.

You should have broad extensive experience in indirect procurement, sourcing and negotiation strategies as well as compliance aspects. You have seen “how good looks like” in a world class procurement function and have track record of designing and implementing improvement programs in that area. You are able to work independently, set a path for yourself, and possess strong influential skills to drive change in the organization.

You should be comfortable in a high-energy, fast-paced environment with shifting demands and be able to effectively prioritize between competing projects. Our ideal candidate will be willing to dive into details while not losing sight of company-wide strategic priorities, understand how the procurement mission fits into that plan, and ensure effective execution without hierarchical authority

In this Role, you’ll get to:

• Define and implement the roadmap on how to build the procurement function at Agoda: strategies, policies, processes, organizational structure and tools
Own the procurement productivity agenda for Agoda. Create visibility on spend (patterns). Identify and pursue possibilities for cost reduction
• Drive and implement better contract management processes and tools
• Recommend the ideal functional organizational structure going forward
• Create and implement the global procurement strategies locally. Drive key policies, and processes specific to Agoda. Drive adherence to and global alignment on the category strategies, key procurement policies and processes
• Position procurement as a strategic, value-add partner towards the business and act as a strategic advisor to senior management on procurement related matters
• Manage the total spend of Agoda on external goods and services, at true market conditions and optimal price/quality ratio
• Drive strategy and governance for suppliers across categories, maximize value from supplier performance and manage continuity risks. Monitor the supplier base and manage associated risks
• Continuously improve the quality of the procurement process, including specification, internal & external analysis, tendering and negotiation, as well as contract-, supplier-, demand-, and value management
• Guide the development and implementation of the systems for sourcing, contract management, vendor management, and purchase to pay
• Cooperate closely with the Risk & Compliance function, to ascertain that all procurement-related reputational, financial, and operational risks are identified and mitigated
• Ensure compliance with the code of conduct in all Procurement processes

What you’ll Need to Succeed:

• 8-10 years of progressive growth in supply chain, finance or procurement space
• 4-6 years of procurement experience in leading global category management
• Expert Market knowledge: deep knowledge of most IT/NPR/Indirect and Real estate categories
• Leader applying mastery in the procurement discipline, broad expertise in most/all areas within this function, able to set a vision for the function
• Strong influential skills with the ability to lead without hierarchical authority, able to deal with tough stakeholders, tight deadlines, and big impact projects
• Quick thinker and confident in decision making
• Good analytical skills with strong attention to detail
• Process, problem solving and action orientated mindset
• Self-starter, ability to work independently, drive projects forward and navigate an ambiguous environment
• Curious, creative and innovative, particularly in designing procedures without stiffening business growth
• Solid interpersonal skills – ability to interact effectively within a multi-disciplined finance organization as well as relevant stakeholders outside of the department and externally
• Excellent corporate agility to collaborate and build relationships at all levels of the organization including Group
• Flexible, fast learner who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment, self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to drive change and adapt quickly in an agile environment
• Superior negotiation, communication and story-telling skills
Internationally accredited procurement qualification is preferred (e.g. CIPS)
• Master degree preferred, Bachelors degree required
