Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager (Human Resources & Administration), the incumbent will assume the following:

  1. Provide good and courtesy customer services to all visitors and coordinate with internal staff to escort visitors
  2. Handle incoming calls promptly and courteously
  3. Ensure smooth operation of the reception counter to handle all incoming / outgoing mails / parcels with post office and courier companies
  4. Provide general office administration, such as meeting rooms set up, F&B support and replenishment of refreshment and office supplies when required
  5. Provide administrative and clerical support to HR & Administration Section
  6. Support occasional outdoor work duties (e.g. going to bank / post office)
  7. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors

Requirements

  1. Completed F.5 / HKDSE or above
  2. At least 2 years of work experience as a receptionist
  3. Good command of Cantonese and English, proficiency in Putonghua would be an advantage
  4. Good telephone manner, interpersonal and communication skills
  5. Well versed in MS office applications, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  6. Pleasant disposition and good team player
  7. Mature, be flexible and able to support during non-office hours as required

This employment with the Travel Industry Authority shall be with a fixed term of three-year contractual period. The offer of further employment beyond the Term will be solely at the discretion of the Travel Industry Authority.

Travel Industry Authority ("TIA")

The TIA is an independent statutory regulatory body established under the Travel Industry Ordinance (Cap. 634) (“Ordinance”).  The TIA is responsible for promoting the integrity, competence and professionalism of travel agents, tourist guides and tour escorts through a statutory licensing and regulatory system, and regulating shops that inbound tour groups are arranged to patronise through an administrative scheme. The TIA is also responsible for managing the Travel Industry Compensation Fund ("TICF") which provides outbound travellers purchasing outbound packages with protection and advising the Government on matters relating to the regulation of the travel industry. With the full commencement of the new regulatory regime on 1 September 2022, the TIA has taken up the licensing and trade regulatory roles from the Travel Agents Registry and the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong respectively.

The TIA is headed by the Executive Director, underpinned by three Directors and other staff members to support the TIA in discharging its statutory functions and daily operation.
