Job Description

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) role is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units, formulating partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. This role will cover for Hong Kong and Taiwan with an added role as subject matter expert for overall SEA in Compensation & Benefits.

The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture, and its competition, also the development and implementation of human resource policies and practices to ensure that both business objectives and employee’s expectation are being met and managed. To be an effective member of each country’s Management Team contributing to the setting, monitoring and achieving of targets and objectives for the business.

KEY TASKS :

1) Manpower Resourcing and Cost Control

  • To develop and plan manpower resources to meet the operational and succession needs of the Company. This includes managing attrition rate and managing the action plan to minimize attrition, as well as setting, managing, and controlling all employee related expenditures within the approved financial budget.

2) Recruitment

  • To liaise with heads of departments on the recruitment and selection of new talents that meet operational, and succession needs of the Company and in charge of orientation program.
  • Work closely with the GCSEA Talent Acquisition Team to ensure that time to hire KPI is met.

3) Training and Development

  • Liaising with line managers and training managers to identify employees’ training needs, ensuring that their career development needs are met through a comprehensive succession planning programme and are adequately trained to be effective in their jobs; keeping track and communicate to employees on the usage on the online learning program in Success Factor.

4) Compensation and Benefits Administration

  • Be the subject matter expert for SEA Compensation and Benefits. Reviewing SEA compensation especially for key talents in the region. Provide advice on C&B matters to SEA HRBPs when needed.
  • Collaborating with C&B subject matter team for any C&B advice and policy to establish a competitive compensation and benefits package, attracting and retaining the best employee by compensating fairly based on his or her qualifications, experiences, skills and responsibilities. To conduct an Annual Salary Increment exercise in line with the group’s increment guideline.

5) Development and Setting of HR Policies

  • To ensure that the Company’s Human Resource principles and policies are interpreted and implemented correctly, and that an objective view of the Human Resource implications is represented in any commercial decision.
  • To review current HR policies, practices and systems against changing needs and ensure proper implementation and communication.

6) Payroll Administration

  • To check all payroll data are accurate before proceeding to approval and pay out, ensuring all employees’ payroll related information are given to HR Operation team on a timely and accurately basis.
  • To check all final payroll report and reconciliation prior pay-out.

7) Counselling and Care of the Individual

  • To advise on the correct and appropriate action to be taken when required standards of performance are not met.
  • To initiate and encourage a free flow of communication and feedback, and to ensure that staff motivation and morale are high.
  • To provide personal/career counselling and create an environment in which the HRBP will be the central person who can offer and objective view in any situation.

8) Others

  • To prepare all offer letter before sending the signed copies to HR Operations team for their further action.
  • To review all confirmation, transfer and other staff related letters are prepared correctly by the HR Operation team.
  • Execute human resources operational issues and resolve employee queries efficiently.
  • To conduct exit interviews for all resigned employees.
  • Provide support for HR initiatives at local country level, provide advice, counsel and information and serve as a resource for facilitating, planning, and implementing change initiatives (to improve organizational effectiveness and employee welfare).

Required Skills/Abilities:-

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Subject matter expert in SEA C&B will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
  • Have some knowledge or work using HRIS.

 Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in human resources in matrix environment.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, as well as Hong Kong and Taiwan employment laws.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
