Job Description

You will be responsible for:
  • providing exhibition design and project management support to Curatorial and Programming Department with short and long-term planning and managing executions of all exhibitions, display projects, and other curatorial projects;
  • handling concept development, space planning, budgeting of projects, management of installations and external vendors;
  • provide advice and guidance to junior teammates, collaborating with artists, institutions and vendors in order to successfully execute exhibition projects; 
  • managing various type of design projects and ensuring compliance with museum standards, including but not limited to schedules and budgets, developing contracts, ensuring deadlines are met and overseeing the entire exhibition fabrication period;
  • developing agreements with the relevant departments and ensuring the museum is appropriately represented and procedures are adhered to;
  • following through the procurement process of exhibition design related goods and services from sourcing, procuring, routing, tracking to invoicing; and
  • performing other duties as assigned by supervisor when deemed necessary.

You should:
  • possess a recognised university degree in interior design (or 3D design equivalent), museum studies, arts administration, civil or structural engineering, project management or equivalent;
  • have a minimum of 10 years’ experience working with and managing sizable exhibitions, experience from a museum or gallery environment will be a plus;
  • have strong management and leadership skills with the ability to work with tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks within an ever-changing environment as well as experience in supervising subordinates/ staff;
  • be familiar with government submission procedures, including procurement and tender stages and experience in identifying potential risk and time implication during a project’s life cycle;
  • have knowledge of local statutory and building related legislations/ codes;
  • be proficiency in using computer design software such as AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop and Illustrator; and
  • have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in English and Chinese.
