About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated, commercially and data savvy Compensations & Benefits Controller to join our team. You will be responsible for managing weekly and monthly payroll in an accurate and timely manner including part-time, permanent, new joiners and final payments.

The ideal candidate has solid experience in all aspects of Compensations & Benefits and an in-depth understanding of the Hong Kong Labour domain, while also having a passion for the Food & Beverage industry. Duties & Responsibilities

C&B Operations
  • Manage the administration of incentive schemes, tax returns, medical insurance and MPF in a timely and accurate manner
  • Work closely with accounting to set-up payroll payments, manage timely approvals and manage the payment platforms
  • Manage approvals, administration, and tracking of employee loans and other ad-hoc benefits, while providing report and visibility to management on those ad-hoc items
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure adequate information is provided for accurate bookkeeping and payroll payments to match and reconcile to accounting data for audit
  • Manage, review and improve the payroll process and policies for operational excellence

Business Partnering
  • Assist HR processes such as, salary reviews, performance management, salary benchmarking, staff cost budgeting, and allocation of employee benefits
  • Identify opportunities to optimise payroll through analytics and budget management
  • Support with manager's onboarding and ensure they understand relevant aspects of the Hong Kong Labour regulation, the payroll processes, and the policies
  • Lead regular information session on medical insurance and banking programs
  • Partner with operations leaders and paralegal to handle employee relations – especially involving potential complex situations
  • Provide support in C&B-related projects to meet business strategies

Compliance Management
  • Support management in HR-related legal cases, proactively through education and training of our leaders
  • Work closely with paralegal – to help manage liquor licences allocation and ensure continuity in liquor licence holding when relevant managers are off-boarded
  • Manage and track work injury cases

Analytics and Reporting
  • Work closely with business controllers and provide report to management on payroll and FTE trend vs budget
  • Support other cost management initiatives and business control projects as required


Requirements

  • Degree holder in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related disciplines
  • Experienced in HR operations with a focus on C&B and HRIS exposure – HRIS implementation experience a plus
  • Food & Beverage experience preferred – retail and hospitality background also a plus
  • Solid and practical experience with the Hong Kong Labour law
  • Positive and energetic, with an uncanny ability to be solution-driven
  • A team player, with a love for interacting with a wide variety of people, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid Business acumen, comfortable with data and figures
  • Attain strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • Good work commitment, energetic, fast learner
  • High level of integrity and confidence to manage confidential information in a tactful manner
  • Good command of spoken and written in English, Cantonese preferred
