Our client is working in the education sector.  They are now looking for a Project Officer to join their Education Commission Secretariat to provide administration support.

Responsibilities

• To assist in organising visits and public events for the Education Commission;
• To conduct research and analysis on educational matters;
• To provide professional and administrative support for support measures for non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students in learning Chinese for schools admitting a relatively small number of NCS students, including, among others, handling correspondence with schools and enquiries from schools / the public, vetting the eligibility of schools and NCS students, disbursement and adjustment of the additional funding to schools concerned, and monitoring the use of funding by schools through vetting school plans and school reports, supervisory visits/meetings, questionnaire surveys and focus group interviews, etc.
• To assist in organizing briefings/sharing sessions regarding support for NCS students in learning Chinese and creating an inclusive learning environment in schools, answering enquiries, maintaining database, compiling relevant statistics and drafting reports and briefs, etc.
• To verify information under the column on “Education Support for NCS Students’ eligibility for examination subsidy and data analysis of NCS students’ performance in HKDSE and non-local Chinese examinations and receipt of JUPAS offers; and
• To perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisors.

Requirements

• A Hong Kong bachelor’s degree, or equivalent; preferably with Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE)
• A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent;
• At least 3 years’ relevant post-degree working experience and at least 1 year in education sector;
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
• Proficient in Chinese and English Word Processing as well as knowledge of basic PC applications, such as MS Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint, etc.
• Immediately available is highly preferable
