Project title: Establishing Impact Case: Pandemic and epidemic surveillance and risk assessments

[Appointment Period: 12 months]

The appointee will be responsible for providing both research and administrative support to the captioned project. The appointee will handle data collection, statistical calculations and analysis. The appointee will also be involved in the methodological development of the risk assessment framework and assist in writing research papers. The appointment will be for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Risk Management, Epidemiology and Biostatistics or a related field. Preference will be given to applicants who possess a Master’s Degree in the above-mentioned disciplines or more than one year of research experience. The ideal candidate should be strong in statistical computing, Bayesian analysis and programming. Proficiency in R and Python will be an advantage. Applicants should have a good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese. He/she should also be highly self-motivated, detail-minded, and able to work independently. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include contract-end gratuity, leave, medical and dental benefits.
