Job Description

Looking for Business Risk candidates with 4-8 years of experience from Big 4 consulting firms/investment/asset management firms to join a premier family investor.

Client Details

The client is a flagship private investment arm of a big conglomerate operating in 27 countries globally.

Description

  • Provide business risk and controls considerations for project teams
  • Support the 1st line of defense control monitoring activities across the end-to-end investment process, including checking the sign-off on investment checklists, completing risk log and reporting of operational risk incidents, etc
  • Conduct periodic internal risk and control assessments to identify any control weaknesses in existing approval processes and embed effective controls in daily processes and policy inconsistencies with other the supporting functions
  • Maintain warm relationship with various service providers/consultants, deal promoters, fund managers, lawyers, administrators, auditors for awareness on latest market practice
  • Maintain the firm's Simple Effective Framework to drive governance and internal controls across the entity
  • Manage a risk reporting process for functions to escalate significant emerging operational risks and issues
  • Drive the BCP readiness, including the business recovery strategy, the detailed contingency plans, test runs, and relationship management with critical partners and vendors

Profile

  • 4+ years relevant experience, preferably within the investment holding/asset management industry
  • Proactive in providing value-added solutions
  • Good judgement regarding prioritisation of tasks; taking the lead; and escalation
  • 'Can do' attitude to get involved in current, routine and new activities
  • Sound Operational Risk Management knowledge
  • Attention to detail and the ability to constructively resolve problems and improve processes and procedures
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills - articulate and able to influence
