Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Head of Private Wealth Management, the candidate shall lead a small team includes various functions i.e. KYC, risk monitoring, regulatory follow ups, MIS, business and project management etc.

• Act as first line of defense, monitor daily activities of PWM frontline staff (RM, ARM, IC) are compliant to regulatory requirements and internal policies
• Develop quantitative risk control framework for risk identification, measurement, management and reporting
• Communicate with frontline staff regularly on significant risk items/irregularities found in investment transactions, areas of improvement in securities dealing, and provide guidance on investment suitability check before executing investment transactions for customers
• Good knowledge in KYC procedures and lead the team to work closely with back office team on clients’ new account opening, monitoring and control for on-boarding procedures
• Provide regular training to frontline staff on regulatory requirements and dealing in securities
• Regularly review and update internal policies and procedures, to be in line with latest regulations, technology and industry best practices
• Work closely with the second line of defense and different stakeholders on policy and procedure implementation
• Participate in projects and initiatives, system transformation etc.
• Work closely with both branch and Head office business management units to make sure business resources are well allocated and delivered

Ideal candidates should possess:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic qualification
• At least 10 years’ relevant risk control and investment suitability monitoring experience in private banking / private wealth management
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements on investment suitability framework/Cross-border Activities/AML/CTF/FATCA/CRS
• Self-motivated, independent with strong communication skills
• Proficient in written and spoken Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and English
