We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Investment Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of Private Equity (PE)/Venture Capital (VC), Private InfraEquity (PI), and other Private Investments’ investment policies and strategies, including the return targets, fund selection criteria, diversification parameters, risk appetite and limits, etc.
  • Responsible for oversight on PE/VC, and PI capital deployment relative to plan and ensure all investment guidelines and risk limits have been followed
  • Responsible for overseeing PE/VC and PI investment valuations and performance relative to target return, with an objective to identify and escalate underperforming or mispriced assets for attention and actions
  • Contribute to effective functioning of investment and valuation oversight governance bodies on PE/VC and PI, including the Portfolio Review Meeting, Valuation Committee, Investment Committee, and Governance Meetings
  • Coordinate with other business areas, including Group Insurance Investment team, Risk, Finance, Actuarial, Product, Investment Operations, Compliance, and Legal on matters related to PE/VC and PI
  • Contribute to the Strategic Asset Allocation review exercise in matters related to PE/VC and PI
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of appropriate fund structures / investment vehicles to maximize investment efficiency of PE/VC and PI
  • Keep abreast of relevant global developments in the capital and insurance market and changes in regulatory, actuarial and accounting regime, particularly in relation to insurance investment management and financial reporting that have impacts on PE/VC and PI
  • Lead team initiatives to achieve and enhance investment management and oversight effectiveness on PE/VC and PI
  • Ensure corporate governance standards are met and a sound control framework is in place for PE/VC and PI investment matters; report to and provide sound advice and recommendation to oversight committees on strategic investment and risk management issues; establish effective investment guidelines and restrictions for fund managers and establish policy and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory, internal and group investment restrictions
  • Discharge the local compliance requirement responsibilities by implementing compliance policy and procedures, ensuring an adequate understanding of all relevant regulations applicable to the business and assisting with resolution of compliance related issues; to ensure an adequate understanding of all relevant anti-money laundering regulations applicable to the business and assisting with the resolution of related compliance problems
  • Work with other parties on audit requests

Requirements

  • Degree holder in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science or other quantitative or related discipline
  • Sound knowledge and experience in private equity or other private market or alternative funds
  • Solid background in investment operations and governance, preferably with a large, global, complex financial institution
  • Previous experience in private funds accounting/auditing, Private Bank private equity or private funds investment specialist or support function, or other similar function is very beneficial
  • Proven ability in stakeholder management and vendor management  
  • Excellent communication skills for building relationships with both internal and external parties
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
