Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

Compliance Analytics is a global function with the ambition to be the preferred analytics partner to manage Compliance Risk, delivering industry leading data driven capabilities and services effectively and efficiently across all jurisdictions and lines of business.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Regulatory Compliance Analyst Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Responsible for models and analytic controls: design, development, implementation, optimisation and validation
  • Establish and assure the global standards for relevant models and analytics adhere to HSBC model governance and regulatory demand
  • Provision of analytics to identify new risk trends and risks and recommend model or control amendments to address
  • Promote a culture of data driven decision making, aligning short term decisions and investments with longer term vision and objectives
  • Advise business and senior leaders on regulatory and risk management issues related to applicable models and analytics
  • Lead, support and coach a small team of talented data scientists, analysts, engineers and modelers located across Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Singapore, Bangalore and Kolkata.
  • Manage relationships with regional and country stakeholders as well as global colleagues
  • Coordinate model risk management and related governance activities

Requirements

  • Client focused, with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills to all level of stakeholders
  • Sound judgment and problem solving skills, ability to think laterally
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp complex processes and concepts and make decisions and/or comprehensive recommendations across a broad range of subject matter
  • Strong coordination and planning skills with the ability to balance short term and long term priorities
  • Good understanding of Financial Crime and/or Regulatory Compliance landscape and the related risk governance in a large financial institution
  • University graduate with several years of proven and progressive experience in an analytical role, preferably in a financial institution
  • While not absolutely required, past experience as a modeler with strong coding skills are desirable
  • Proven and solid track record in risk management or project management at a senior level
  • Experience as a people manager is a plus
