Who are we looking for 

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role overseas the payment and treasury backend operations.  

Responsibilities

  • Operate the daily payment settlement and treasury operations for the virtual bank.  Major task includes the digital-only domestic fund transfer, develop and support any new payment services, monitor the daily cash flow of the nostro account and the funding position of the Bank, and work closely with the treasury desk execute the trade transactions.
  • Oversee all the backend payment related issues, including the issuance of cashiers’ order, handling the exceptional cases e.g. mistransfer of funds and transfer failures, and any other ad hoc issues arising from the day-to-day operations.
  • Support the settlement with the service providers of the equities trading services.
  • Manage and execute the control process in accordance with the internal and external policies & regulations, which includes the sanctions and related screening, daily monitoring and exceptions handling mechanism. 
  • Prepare the regular reporting of performance index, escalations, and risk items.
  • Keep abreast of the latest payment technologies and treasury products, and initiate continuous process improvement with the Product Owners to ensure the Bank is at the forefront of the business.
  • Develop effective relationship, work closely with the business and functional stakeholders to deliver the Bank’s strategy.
  • Ensure strict adherence of regulatory, compliance and internal control requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years experience in either the Payment Operations, Financial Markets Operations or Treasury Operations.
  • Solid knowledge with FPS, ACH, RTGS, SWIFT and the related settlement systems, and experience in interacting with the key local clearing organization(s) an advantage.
  • Proven experience and capabilities in overseeing and mitigating operational risk, and drive control activities; able to attend to imminent operational issues around the clock, both within and after office hours.
  • Able to work hands-on, and with different cultures, good interpersonal and analytical skills; good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
