In this position you will....

...work closely with group finance and country finance teams on group financial projects and initiatives related to financial reporting and controls. You will be expected to provide insightful information by analysing and expectations to the management team, implementing processes and tracking the status of projects

You will be responsible for…

Finance Transformation:

• Work closely with Group Finance and the business in leading finance inputs into key group projects focussing on reporting enhancements; consolidation., technical accounting and policy process and controls documentation
• Project management the finance inputs and requirements in key group projects
• Provide financial direction support and assist in the coordination on finance transformation strategies/ initiatives
• Understand key competitive drivers and geographic markets and keep abreast of key, relevant industry trends and articulate potential impact on financial performance
• Provide strong business partnering and drive effective communication with key stakeholders before, during and after each reporting milestone
• Work closely with the Finance Transformation team on project implementations
• Bring new thinking and ways of doing things to the function, including analysing and pushing new metrics and performance indicators; documenting golden process policy’s and technical policies
• Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, best practices; identify and implement areas of improvements
• Provide insightful information and expectations to management to aid in long-term and short-term decision making

Project Management

• Inclusive of the following but not limited to project management alone rather where needed gets involved in the actual running of projects as well
• Responsible for all touchpoints pertaining to the project- this is inclusive of project communication, interface, and stakeholder management
• Drive results by working across several countries and functional teams to drive results
• Monitor and report all relevant regional and local KPIs and deadlines
• Use standard approaches to solve issues and enforce process discipline
• Keep project teams and workstreams on track relative to scope, schedule, and resources
• Validate bottom line impact of improvements and track operational KPIs
• Resolve conflicts in any aspect of project work and process changes
• Positively impact the organization through focus on continuous improvement
• Set up, develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the program and project by chartering scope, objectives, planning, status, key issues, and interdependencies
• Provide feedback to improve project management process
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency in clarity
• Coach and mentor team members where necessary

You will require the following qualifications and skills

• Qualified accountant with excellent IFRS technical skills
8+ years’ experience in financial management and business process design
• Strong analytical, quantitative, execution, project management and leadership skills coupled with good financial acumen
• Excellent senior stakeholder management and business partnering
• Insurance industry/ insurtech experience preferred
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
