A China-based hedge fund company focusing on global macro strategy is about to launch a Hong-Kong based firm which will engage in SFC 4&9 activities.  

The company based in China mainland is among the top fund companies in the hedge fund sector nationwide, with a history of more than 10 years, and current AUM above 40 billion RMB. 

We are currently looking for an Responsible Officer who possessed both license and senior experience in the field. 

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage Business operations division;
• Responsible for all settlement, data management and cash management functions of the company;
• Support all business functions from operations perspective including Equities, Fixed income, Futures/options, OTC derivatives, Commodities, etc.;
• Manage and monitor operations team’s daily operations, including payment, settlement, data setup, confirmation, corporate actions, IPO and placement etc.;
• Manage daily operations to ensure full regulatory compliance;
• Design and implement workflow and guideline to make sure that the business is administered in an efficient, controlled, risk-free and timely manner;
• Liaise with external counterparties and internal departments on work processes and clearing operations;
• Ensure all activities are in compliance with regulatory requirements and company guidelines;
• Leading the team to drive operations efficiency and direct technical team to build and improve operations platforms as well as automation;
• Closely work with different departments, committees in business initiatives or daily matters;
• Define operations strategy, resource planning, budget and policies.

Requirement:

• Bachelor degree or above in Business Administration, Finance, Computer science or related discipline;
• Minimum 15 years relevant experiences within the securities or investment banking operations industry;
• At least 5 years of experiences in managerial level, leading a sizable team of operations from well-established securities firms / investment banks;
• Technological knowledge and background will be an advantage;
• Familiar with SFC regulatory requirements and compliance best practices;
• Attention to detail, a strong customer service ethos;
• Ability to multi-task effectively and excellent problem solving skill;
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred;
• Intensive knowledge and working experience in middle or back offices;
• Product knowledge on Equities, Fixed income, Futures and options, OTC Derivatives, OTC Commodities, is a must;
• Experience in managing a sizable team with more than 10 members.
• Fluent in Mandarin Cantonese and English, both written and spoken.
