Responsibilities

• Drive and implement the new initiative of underwriting to upgrade operational efficiency, quality of underwriting and service standard
• Conduct training for underwriters and sales on new initiative of underwriting / project
• Perform data analysis and present technical insights and impacts to a wide range of audiences, across various organizational levels
• Lead the underwriting related projects such as digitalization / automation / product development / revamp of application documents, underwriting guidelines, and health questionnaire etc
• Build an underwriting dashboard and provide the recommendation on improving the team productivity, and the service standard
• To conduct periodic underwriting audit and early claim analysis, and provide the recommendation on underwriting procedures and guidelines, and to prepare the audit report
• Support BAU cases underwriting / approval during peak season
   

Qualifications, Training and Experience

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• 5 years of experience in medical / life underwriting, with at least 2 years’ experience in underwriting project management role.
• Sound product and medical knowledge.
• Customer-focused mindset.
• Innovative and open to new underwriting approaches.
• Experience in data analysis.
• Experience in digital transformation (examples: design experience of underwriting rule engine / digital application journey).
• Strong sense of compliance, ethics and integrity; hold self-accountable for own decisions and actions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Able to explain the abstract underwriting concept clearly to different stakeholders and to manage their expectation.
• Able to achieve the project timelines.
• Willing and able to work under pressure with positive working attitude.
• Good written English and Chinese; proficient in English and Cantonese
