Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Regional Network Engineer (ASIA) is responsible for analyzing requirements and to perform network solutioning, planning, installation and setup of network systems including structured cabling, routers, switches, UPS, DNS and syslog. (S)He will be tasked to develop new and review current standards, procedures and documentation for network operations. (S)He will be providing technical support (including On-Call as required) to evaluate problems and provide technical solutions and 24-hour response for emergencies.
Position Responsibilities and Duties
• Design and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current Networks.
• Install, configure and support network equipment including routers, switches & wireless controller/access points and network access control.
• Configure firewalls, routing, and switching to maximise network efficiency and security.
• Troubleshooting/fault finding network incidents.
• Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations/laptops, telephony equipment, printers, and production equipment/tools.
• Perform and arrange network device/firewall firmware upgrade or preventive
maintenance activities.
• Provide systems engineering and operational support for the IT infrastructure
components.
• Handle all escalations on system, applications and attend to faults, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software technical problems.
• Manage and maintain an up-to-date IT asset and patch information list, network diagrams, system requests and documented processes for the operations and maintenance of the platforms.
• Develop and improve instrumentations to monitor the health and availability of the systems-related infrastructure, Experience with monitoring tools.
• Provide day-to-day network administration support.
• Perform 24X7 on call responsibilities in a global environment
• Maintain composure in stressful situations.
• Maintain professional conduct under all circumstances.
• Any other responsibilities or tasks assigned from time to time by superior.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a similar relevant field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network administration is a must.
• Hands-on experience with equipment from Cisco, Fortinet, Unifi.
• Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet. standards, including routers, switches (layer 2/3), firewalls, remote access, DNS, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, QoS, and VPN, SD-Wan.
• Hands-on knowledge of Firewall, Routers, VLANs and routing protocols.
• Knowledge of DMZ, Cyber Security, server hardening and firewall administration.
• Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, and WLAN design and implementation.
• Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
• Ability to work with all levels of staff within the organization.
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Positive attitude
• Ability to work well in a team and stay organized individually.
• Committed and willing to work beyond office hours when needed.
• Able to start work immediately will be an added advantage.
• Logistics Industry experience will be an advantage.
• Holder of CCNA/CCNP is an advantage..
• Good command of both written and spoken English.
• Ability to travel 30% of the time.
