We are now looking for talents to join our Hong Kong Yarn R&D/technical team.
 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Yarn R&D development for multi brands :

• Yarn research & sourcing
• Work independently with customer yarn R&D or design teams
• Attend yarn shows when needed 
• Collect yarn mill seasonal trend and new development, innovation, and technique to share
• Monitor developed yarn quality and performance, risk assessment on adopted development yarn with mill. Review failed / non conformed yarn development test reports from yarn suppliers
• Update raw material prices from market and negotiate with yarn supplier to achieve best cost
• Facilitate to customer, MGF HK merchant and MGF Shanghai merchant

Technical support for multi brands :

• Elevate yarn mills’ in-house testing capability on producing yarns that consistently meet Brands’ standard
• Communicate with regional offices and clients; Set up final specification with suppliers
• Collaborate with Merchants (Regional offices),  Procurement, Vendors and Suppliers to establish and apply the regulatory standards of yarn performance in production 
• Liaise with launch team on new yarn development and be responsible for recording and QA approval for the development adopted by the team
• On-board potential and new suppliers to comprehend our requirements, procedures and time and action calendar
• Motivated suppliers/vendors in production to monitor the bulk yarn quality and provide technical advice to ensure customer standards are met
• Facilitate to customer, MGF HK merchant and MGF Shanghai merchant 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS (e.g. Qualification, Job Experience)

• College / degree holder from Textile & fashion management preferred
• Technical education in textile science of degree level or equivalent experience in Sweater Merchandising or Quality Control
• Experience on yarn development and sweater production
• Good sense of aesthetic and understanding of fashion trend
• Strong data base and relationship with sweater yarn mill
• Practical experience of applying proven techniques of quality assurance within the textile industry
• Strong knowledge of the latest materials and techniques as well as yarn standards and testing specifications. Good communication and networking skill, open to innovative idea and business oriented commercialize the idea to bulk
• Pro-active in seeking solutions to all technical issues to provide solutions
• Basic knowledge on time and action plan of raw material
