Job Description
The Department
The Racing Club is a high-profile business initiative aimed at nurturing the interest of a new generation of young and affluent racing fans and grooming them to be the next generation of horse-owning Members and race-goers. It was set up in 2007 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the HK Jockey Club with its own Board of Directors.
The Racing Club also has a wholly-owned subsidiary itself, namely The Racing Club Horse Management Limited, which will own and manage at least three race horses. The directors of these companies comprise of Voting Members appointed by the Racing Club’s Board of Directors.
The Racing Club operations essentially have 3 functions:
- Members’ recruitment and servicing;
- Members’ events (racing and non-racing);
- Club horse management.
The Job
You will:
- Work at The Racing Club’s dining venues, at both Happy Valley Racecourse and Sha Tin Racecourses on racedays and non-racedays
- Welcome Members and their guests at The Racing Club venues in a pleasant and warm manner to build up a friendly relationship
- Answer The Racing Club hotline and general enquires from Members about the services and events
- Process table-booking request from members who may call in or book through online
- Maximise seat and table utilization of the venue, works out daily booking and seating plans and prepare venue utilization reports
- Work on event logistics, cost control and provides on-site support to ensure successful execution of internal event
- Reply to written and online enquiries and assists in other office administration
- Undertake other duties as assigned by Senior Manager, Relationship Management
About You
You should have:
- Diploma or above in Hospitality Management or related disciplines preferred
- A minimum of 1-2 years’ relevant experience, fresh graduates will also be considered
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in person and on phone
- Customer-centricity and attention to details and logistics
- Professional manner on handling confidential information
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese
- Hands-on computer skill in MS Word & Excel
- Ability to work on night races, non-office working hours and Public Holidays
Terms of employment
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
