Job Description
The Department
Corporate Controllership is responsible for strengthening the standard of financial management and governance across the Club, Trust, and Related Entities. This is achieved through maintaining and continually enhancing the Club's financial processes, systems, internal controls and governance structures. In the context of increased charitable contributions in coming years, there is a pressing need to further strengthen internal controls over Charities payments.
The Job
- Acting as a liaison between the Charities Division and Accounts Payable to identify and communicate operational changes, challenges and trends so emerging payment risks can be proactively managed.
- On a continuous basis, clearly identify and assess the operational effectiveness of the Charities current state expenditure management controls, communicate control gaps and implement action plans to address them.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen the end-to-end overarching Charities expenditure management framework for the Club. This will encompass all processes / sub-processes such as grantee registration, grant application, grand / project approval, cost monitoring, payment review and project close.
- Optimise Charities expenditure management processes via identification and automation of manual processes.
- Provide process knowledge and controls insight to the upcoming design and implementation of the Charities Management System.
- Provide guidance to the Accounts Payable team in documenting and improving existing policies and procedures.
- Work with Charities Division and Accounts Payable teams to embed the expenditure management processes and controls and ensure they are operating effectively.
- In the future, apply the lessons learned from the Charities expenditure management framework to other parts of the Club’s expenditure management.
About You
- Degree in finance / accounting, information technology, engineering or related disciplines.
- At least 10 years of experience preferably working in a finance transformation and/or management consulting capacity in sizeable corporations.
- Experience working in the not-for-profit or public service industry is preferred.
- Proficiency in process engineering (e.g. LEAN, Six Sigma) and data analytics capability is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Immediate available is highly preferred
