Job Description
We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Arts and Social Sciences:
Part-time Research Assistant II (R6630) (A&SS) (Ref: 24000RS)
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator in the research project “The Affective Economies of National Policies: Rural-to-Urban Migrant Women, Female Entrepreneurship, and Common Prosperity of China” (Project No. R6630). The appointee shall mainly be responsible for the following:
- collecting, transcribing, translating fieldwork materials and research materials on related topics;
- assistant literature searches for the project;
- supporting the project’s publication, knowledge mobilization, and public dissimilation; and
- performing other tasks related to the project.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- a good, recognized degree or above, preferably in the field of Cultural Industry Management, Cultural Studies, Journalism and Communication, Social Sciences, or a related discipline;
- competent at computer skills and software (e.g. MS Office using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, NVivo, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CRM Web management);
- diligent, self-motivated, and meticulous, and be able to meet deadlines and work independently;
- an excellent command of English and Chinese;
- have experience and knowledge of Shanghai, and be able to travel to Shanghai to help conduct fieldworks.
Terms and Conditions for Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on a full-time contract for the period between 1 June 2024 and 31 January 2025. Payment will be made on monthly basis. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
