Job Description

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Reporting to the Director, Global Sourcing and is responsible for managing the Quality Assurance Team at Gant; with the key focus on supplier evaluation, continuous improvement and supplier training to build the Premium brand awareness on our quality expectation. 
  • Secure control of Brand quality across the Global supply base, ensuring all products shipped have adhered to our GANT's quality requirements; New supplier trainings for technical Support the Sourcing function with a new supplier set up. Ensure supplier base adheres to Gant’s AQL standards. 
  • Annual updates to technical manual & clear communication with all suppliers to ensure it gets implemented successfully. 
  • Set, standardize and manage bulk quality from global suppliers (across EMEA & Asia) to deliver premium quality for GANT; 
  • Establish Gant’s test requirements in line with ISO industry test standards, and specific market test requirements. Provide testing support to special sustainability programs; 
  • Implement test regulations with suppliers and ensure bulk goods have passed test results to pre-established set standards during product development & required market standards; Decision making for test results prior to shipping bulk goods. 
  • Monitor gold seal samples to ensure bulk production sample is same as development approved Green Seals; 
  • Standardize Gant’s Bulk goods Inspection SOPs across FCA, 3rd party nominated inspection company; 
  • Initiate and implement new programs of certifications of Quality procedures for GANT approved factories/suppliers; 
  • Maintain and improve the Factory Technical Evaluation process to ensure we only work with Best in Class suppliers; 
  • Minimize bulk product claims & settlement with suppliers if any; 
  • Manage supplier training program - Factory Certification Auditor to communicate GANT'S technical requirements, minimum make standards, testing requirements for different countries.
  • Frequent visits to inspections in factory premises to ensure inspections are conducted within Gant guidelines. 
  • Regular Factory Technical evaluations are conducted & CAPs are closed by suppliers. 
  • Create, launch, monitoring Accreditation Laboratory Program.
  • Establish & implement Quality Claims Process for suppliers; align cross functionally on end-end process. Manage settlement of claims with suppliers, RCA & CAP to ensure it does not repeat. Communicate with other cross function departments. Manage the Product claim mail box for speedy closures to the potential claims from markets/ sales channels/ warehouses. 
  • Technical KPIs in Scorecard - Evaluate, train, monitor for continual technical upgrading for all the Global Suppliers.
  • Establish & monitor nominated 3rd party technical service providers. Constant monitor to ensure no subcontracting by suppliers.
  • Work with cross functions when needed to provide testing support to sustainability programs like PEF & RSL. 
  • Review & solve any IP queries from IP Paralegal teams for counterfeit queries. 
  • Assist in ad hoc projects, if any. 

 

Job Requirements 

 

  • 15+ years’ experience in the Garment Industry with strong manufacturing and Quality Control and Quality Assurance knowledge; 
  • Degree holder in Quality Management, Textile or related disciplines; 
  • Good leadership and people management skills; 
  • Ability to motivate a team and drive changes to meet strategic targets;
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with QA teams in global suppliers, sourcing regions and technical labs;
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing operations and ability to conduct factory production assessments;
  • Knowledge of end to end order process and the ability to innovate;
  • Solid data analysis skills and ability to create and present reports in a clear way; 
  • Strong ability to work and build relationships in a cross functional environment; 
  • IT skills with a sound experience in Excel and report creation, PLM experience a merit; 
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Extensive travel required (30-40%).
