The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) invites nominations and applications for the position of Learning & Development Manager of the University.

The Role

The role is responsible for developing the learning and development ecosystem, implementing L&D strategies across the University to ensure capability building. It involves identifying learning needs, designing and delivering learning solutions, and evaluating the effectiveness of learning initiatives.  The role will work closely with HRBPs, and other stakeholders to ensure the learning ecosystem aligns with the University's overall development strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design learning strategies and deliver solutions that support employee development against the University’s strategic direction;
  • Advise HRBPs on solutions to client groups’ specific learning needs;
  • Build learning curriculums (e.g. leadership curriculum, personal effectiveness know-how, change management toolkit) and partner with subject matter experts to develop and deliver learning content;
  • Support on learning & development solutions for talent cohorts;
  • Build LMS and the learning content, track learning data and dashboards, draw insights to define learning needs, staff retention, KPIs, ROI, etc.;
  • Partner with employee engagement vendor to create positive employee experience and employer branding.

 

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be an experienced learning & development professional.  Desired attributes include:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in human resources, business, organizational development, industrial/organizational psychology, or other related disciplines;
  • 10+ years of experience in learning & development;
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theory;
  • Experience in developing an LMS;
  • Strong end-to-end process thinking and management, with the ability to effectively leverage technology to drive and enhance efficiency and effectiveness of learning & development processes;
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to create, measure and scale the right metrics to drive efficiencies;
  • Eager to learn.

The post is a full-time appointment, normally for an initial term of 2 years, and renewable subject to mutual agreement.  Competitive compensation and fringe benefits will be provided.
