Job Description
FINANCE OFFICE
Finance Manager (Subsidiary Accounts and Company Secretarial) (Self-financing Operations Section) (Ref. 240508003-IE)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) provide financial management support for the subsidiaries / affiliated companies of the University, including financial accounting, annual audit, budgeting, payment, taxation, financial reports preparation and financial analysis for management purpose;
(b) provide company secretarial support for the subsidiaries / affiliated companies of the University, including statutory filings, preparing written resolutions, meeting papers and minutes; may take up the position of Company Secretary in subsidiaries if required;
(c) work closely with staff of the subsidiaries to facilitate the financial analysis and management reporting of the University, and to assist in developing and enhancing the administrative policies and procedures of subsidiaries in alignment with those of the University;
(d) provide support on the GBA initiatives of the University, including incorporation of / acquisition of interest in companies, and development of internal control procedures and accounting policies;
(e) provide hands-on support to the operation of the team;
(f) supervise and provide guidance to subordinates;
(g) provide support on general office administration; and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) possess a recognised degree in Accounting or related disciplines, plus a professional accounting qualification or equivalent;
(b) have at least five years of post-qualification supervisory experience in accounting, finance, auditing, company secretarial or other related areas;
(c) have good problem-solving skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Technical knowledge of Excel/Access VBA will be an advantage;
(d) able to work under a minimal level of supervision and carry out assignments independently within a well-defined framework;
(e) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese with fluency in Putonghua being a must;
(f) have good interpersonal and leadership skills, and strong communication and problem-solving skills;
(g) be proactive, detail-oriented and self-motivated; and
(h) be able to prioritise requests and be good team player.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
