Job Description

About The Role

The Learning and Development Officer will play a crucial role in our hotel group’s continuous growth and improvement. This role involves working closely with the hotels’ Learning and Development leaders and representatives to identify and address our colleagues’ and the group’s development needs.

This position is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and evaluating training programs within an organization.
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Identify the training needs of colleagues and the organization as a whole.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, implementing learning and development programs.
  • Preparation of training materials, including presentations, handouts, manuals, and other resources to support the training programs.
  • Coordinate logistics and schedules for training programs, including booking training venues, arranging for trainers or external training providers, managing training budgets, and ensuring that participants have the necessary resources and materials.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of all training programs, adjusting as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and analyze training records in order to monitor the effectiveness of learning and development projects.
  • Work closely with other departments and hotels to understand their training needs and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in the hospitality industry to ensure our training programs are up to date.
  • Handle ad hoc projects as assigned.
     

Qualifications

Education:

BA degree in Human Resources/ Hotel and Restaurant Management/ Hospitality/ Business Administration/ Psychology or related field.

Certification:           

Certification in Training (such as CIPD) is a plus.

Experience:          

  • Proven 1-2 years' experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry. 
  • Proven track record of designing and executing successful training programs.
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques.
  • Experience with e-learning platforms.
  • Hands-on experience coordinating multiple training events in a corporate setting.

Competences: 

  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, self-motivated with strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple training programs and deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Ability to build rapport with colleagues and vendors.
  • Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and English, both written and spoken. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
