Job Description
Role Introduction
Reports to: Assistant Manager Equipment Planning and Development
Departments: CCE - Catering Centre of Excellence
The position will assist the preparation of equipment specification and requirement for sourcing and selection according to the direction of Customer Experience – Food and Beverage team and Inflight Catering team. He/she will support planning and monitoring of equipment consumption and logistics cost. He/she should ensure systematic control of inventory and support inventory system enhancement.
The role will assist the communication of the equipment changes to front line operations. He/she will also provide assistance to implement and monitor cost/ weight savings and environmental initiative.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment inventory consumption forecast and plan stock requirement and consumption of equipment based on usage pattern, stock level, space availability, inflight service procedure, flight schedule, operation and logistics flow of caterer/ handler and passenger loading/ uplift ratio to ensure supply and timely replenishment.
- Establish safety stock and reorder levels, execute reordering and stock planning system in SAP. Determine re-order, safety stock levels, execute re-ordering and administer ordering and stock planning system.
- Manage and control stock allocation amongst stations.
- Monitor delivery schedule of all equipment items. Coordinate between suppliers, logistics agents, overseas office and internal customers to ensure shipment delivery on time.
- Report and liaise with suppliers and contractors on any quality and quantity issues, follow-up and coordinate with concerned parties.
- Conduct inventory check and perform inspection for equipment loading and quality check to identify operational or quality issues to ensure operational compliance to equipment uplift standard, control procedures and reduce wastage.
- Formulate procedures and standards on equipment replacement, repair, and scrapping.
- Be responsible for NELIs repair and disposal administration.
- Maintain and update inventory system and supplier information such as equipment specifications in SAP, Ariba and equipment manual.
- Validate invoices on equipment, laundries and contractors.
- Coordinate with warehouse and off-site warehouse contractors for inventory storage arrangement.
- Conduct physical inventory check to ensure the accuracy of equipment inventory record.
- Prepare information and reports to facilitate the consumptions forecast, cost variance analysis, budget preparation and equipment/ service contract negotiation.
- Coordinate and arrange for equipment request from passenger, other departments, equipment scrapping, transfer, donation, resell, staff sales and various related activities.
- Support new equipment projects, design, specification creation, testing and cost analysis.
- Assist to communicate new equipment and procedural changes by updating related manuals.
- Assist to prepare budget, forecast and provide support on monthly expenses variance analysis.
- Assist to review, investigate and reply to crew feedback, passenger feedback and management enquires.
- Review e-CFR and other equipment related feedback reports, conduct investigation, follow-up with concerned parties and reply if necessary
- Provide support during catering disruption.
- Provide support to Catering Operations Supply Chain & Inventory Management Manager on projects when required.
Requirements
- Tertiary education & above in Business Administration, Hotel and Catering or relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years' working experience in airline, Experience in inventory and procurement management, logistics, or knowledge of airline industry is a distinct advantage
- Proven numerical and analytical skills;
- Teamwork, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese. Proficiency in Mandarin will be advantageous.
- PC literate with proficiency & SAP knowledge.
