Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic HR Director who can drive HR initiatives, provide strategic guidance, and foster a positive and engaging work environment. The ideal candidate will partner closely with the Managing Director and department heads to understand the business context and offer strategic HR advice.
The candidate should be people-oriented, flexible, and agile in handling different situations and stakeholders at different levels within the company.
Candidates with less experience may be considered for the role of Associate HR Director.
Job Descriptions:
The HR Director will report to the Chief People Officer, Greater China, with a dotted line to the Managing Director in Hong Kong. He/she will lead a team of two to manage a full spectrum of HR functions for the Hong Kong office. The key responsibilities include:
Strategic HR Advisory:
- Partner with the Managing Director and department heads to provide HR advisory and strategic guidance on various aspects, including HR strategic planning, manpower allocation, talent acquisition, talent development, compensation and benefits, performance management, staff engagement, and performance issues.
- Provide recommendations and support in developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding:
- Build and maintain a talent pipeline by establishing relationships with potential candidates and ensuring a proactive approach to recruitment.
- Utilize social media platforms, employee referrals, campus recruitment and recruitment agencies to source diverse and high-quality candidates.
- Enhance the company's social presence and employer branding to attract top talent and promote the organization as an employer of choice.
Talent Development and Retention:
- Work closely with businesses and identify high potentials to provide advice on succession planning and talent engagement.
- Identify training needs and design and implement learning and development programs, particularly for recent graduates.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Manage the annual compensation process, including salary reviews, benchmarking, and budgeting.
- Review and enhance compensation and benefits packages to attract and retain high-quality talent.
- Evaluate existing policies and recommend improvements to ensure competitiveness and alignment with industry trends.
- Supervise payroll operations and work closely with the Finance team to ensure the accuracy of monthly payroll, final payment, MPF and tax filing administration.
- Prepare annual HR budget, including training and staff engagement activities.
Employee Engagement:
- Organize and facilitate employee engagement programs, including well-being activities, social events, and company-wide initiatives.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote a strong sense of belonging and teamwork.
- Implement initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction, morale, and overall employee experience.
Participation in Global HR Projects:
- Lead the HR team to drive and implement group HR initiatives such as creating action plans for increasing employee engagement level, gender balance analysis, talent reviews, and culture change initiatives.
- Collaborate with regional HR teams to share best practices and support global HR initiatives.
Requirements for the role:
- A university degree with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a management role, preferably in an MNC.
- Independent, proactive, and hands-on, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously and take initiative in addressing HR matters.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to effectively relate to people at all levels, internally and externally.
- People-oriented with a flexible and agile approach to handling stakeholders and various situations.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills to engage effectively with different parties involved.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with proficiency in English.
