Client is a diversified maritime services provider offering ship management, crewing, and other maritime solutions. They are looking for an Operation Managers to join the Ship Agency team.

• Monitor the Ship Agency Team daily operations and performance to ensure the compliance to the maritime regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage shipping operations performance and ship schedules planning.
• Coordinate and monitor primary ship movement and fleet operational activities in port and at sea with team members.
• Manage issues arising from cargo operations, customs clearance and servicing client accounts.
• Responsible for port disbursement account calculation and analyze reports on ship agency activities.
• Act as an interface with key clients and other external bodies, mange contracts and maintain close relationships with business customers, suppliers and ship captains.
• Manage Ship Agency corporate, management administrative and finance functions including authorization and signatories.
• Manage compliance to risk management frameworks, policies and processes.
• Assist in developing strategies for resource planning and utilization.
• Evaluate recommendations for potential business opportunities and promote a range of services which matches clients’ requirements.
• Keep abreast of updates in regulatory requirements relating to cargo clearance and documentation.
• Location: Taikoo Office / Kai Tak Cruise Terminal (Occasional)

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Maritime / Logistics Management or related disciplines
• Minimum 8 years of ship agency experience in which 4 years at supervisory level
• In-depth knowledge in the Hong Kong Shipping Ordinance and shipping agency business
• Good command of written and spoken English, Chinese and Mandarin
• Able to work odd hours including weekends and public holidays, willing to travel overseas
• Computer literate with particular emphasis on MS Word/Excel and Outlook
• Good interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain work relationship with different stakeholders
• Strong leadership skill, leading the team effectively
