Our client is a leading developer with a portfolio of high-end hospitality and hotel developments.
 
They are looking to hire a Director of Architecture to help them deliver some new build and renovation projects.
 
Preferred candidates will have previous client-side experience delivering new build and renovation projects, working on luxury hospitality, hotel or integrated resorts.

There will be 3 x people reporting into this position, therefore management experience is preferred, but is not essential.

Open to applicants from other regions such as PRC or Singapore, as long as they meet the language requirements.

Responsibilities:

•    Define and design business and information architecture
•    Oversee architectural design responsibilities as assigned - identification, selection and oversight of applicable architectural and engineering design firms; facilitate effective communication between all involved parties and manage costs of related design fees, and timing of delivery of projects
•    Assist in the preparation of requests for proposal; review the design brief and consultants’ contracts; identify any issues and clarification
•    Serve an effective communication between the outside design, construction, operations, purchasing, and vendors or partners
•    Collaborate and confer with executive management to determine architectural preferences, purpose and function of environment, layout and utilization of furnishings, budget, timing
•    Support the construction delivery team in all aspects related to design including ensuring acceptable quality deliverables by the consultants
•    Liaise with the management and operations team, working with the local corporate construction team and third-party contractors to design, construct and deliver the project
•    Ensure timely and effective execution of the commencement and completion of design projects including all interim period deliverables
•    Plan, design, and deliver of diverse design environments including hotel guest rooms and suites, retail space, food and beverage outlets and convention space
•    Manage global projects requiring cross cultural sensitivities and proven flexibility to adapt to regional design standards and construction methodologies
•    Define and design business and information architecture
•    Provide mentoring, leadership, and technical direction to product development team members

Requirements:

•    Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design
•    10+ years of related experience required
•    Fluent English, Cantonese & Mandarin would be useful, but not essential
•    Ability to build credibility with business partners and the internal team is required, supported by strong leadership experience and a proven ability for advocacy, flexibility, drive and conviction for ideas and strategies
•    Exceptional intellectual, professional, and interpersonal ability with strong analytical and problem solving skills
•    Strong financial acumen and bottom line orientation
•    Team leading experience
•    Travel will be required both domestically and internationally
•    Ability to visualize concepts and explain them to others
•    An eye for design, including color, and good 3D awareness
