Job Description
M+ is a museum dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong visual culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. In Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District, we are building one of the largest museums of modern and contemporary visual culture in the world, with a bold ambition to establish ourselves as one of the world’s leading cultural institutions. Our aim is to create a new kind of museum that reflects our unique time and place, a museum that builds on Hong Kong’s historic balance of the local and international to define a distinctive and innovative voice for Asia’s twenty-first century.
(This is a fixed-term contract position of 2-year with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance.)
Responsibility:
• performing customer services duties at moving image centre or other locations as assigned by supervisors when necessary;
• supporting crowd management, facilitating guests the understanding of house rules and handling customer inquiries and complaints;
• reporting incidents and liaising relevant parties to resolve the incidents appropriately;
• following institutional uniform, health and safety guidelines;
• performing other ad hoc duties as and when required.
Requirement:
• possess higher diploma or above in any disciplines;
• fresh graduates and current students would be considered;
• have experience in operations or customer-facing or event support experience;
• possess approachable personality with positive attitude; a good team player and be adaptive to dynamic environment;
• be proactive and have good interpersonal skills;
• have good oral and written communication skills in English and/or Chinese and/or Putonghua; proficiency in other languages is an advantage;
• be able to work on shifts including weekends, holidays, evening shift according to a roster that is determined by the Authority and actual work schedule and number of work days per week depend on workload demand; and
• be willing to work at different spaces in the museum including outdoor location; prolonged standing and physical lifting may be required.
