Job Description

JOB SCOPE

Responsible for providing support in the various human resources functions including recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring and employee counseling.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment and Personnel Movement 

  • Provide assistance to supervisors and employees, including information on opportunities, job description, performance review and human resources policies. 
  • Handle recruitment advertisement and activities through various channels. 
  • Screen candidates’ resumes and make interview arrangement according to the schedules provided. 
  • Interview and recruit rank and file candidates for the hotel according to the needs specified by departments and review recruitment system in order to ensure support is provided to internal departments. 
  • Coordinate employee recruitment and selection process in order to ensure a timely organized and comprehensive procedure is used to hire employees. 
  • Conduct reference checks on potential candidates. 
  • Prepare pre-employment medical check and employment formalities for new employees and brief them on hotel structure and policies. 
  • Assist in delivering orientation program. 
  • Decline unsuccessful candidates. 
  • Prepare and process all personnel movements including commencement, separation, transfer and promotion and control headcounts according to the approved manning guide. 
  • Establish and maintain contacts with recruitment sources, local and overseas hotel institutes. 
  • Control of computerized personnel system and ensure that all the data entries are accurate. 
  • Prepare Monthly Human Resources Report and compile monthly statistics for management information and decision. 
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze the employees’ reasons for leaving. 
  • Calculate and arrange final payment. 
  • Prepare work reference letters.
  • Handle retirement, expiry and renewal of contract. 

Compensation and Benefit 

  • Prepare work injury forms and necessary documents to the concerned parties and follow through the relevant claims. 
  • Explain employment standards and ordinances related to compensation and benefits. 
  • Monitor daily attendance and investigate causes for employees’ absences, lateness and early leave. 
  • Recommend solutions to resolve chronic attendance difficulties. 
  • Handle all kinds of leave application and update personnel record. 

Health and Safety 

  • Promote workplace safety. 
  • Arrange for the repairs of computers, office equipment and other facilities. 

Staff Relations

  • Provide basic counseling to employees who have performance related obstacles. 
  • Handle employee grievances. 
  • Handle disciplinary action for rank and file employees. 
  • Maintain effective employee relations through effective communication channels. 
  • Assist in planning, organizing and conducting employee activities. 

Administration

  • Assist in the preparation of annual performance appraisal. 
  • Prepare the Monthly Human Resources Report for management information. 
  • Assist in updating human resources policies and procedures, job description and organizational charts. 
  • Assist in reviewing manning guide on a yearly basis and annual salary review.
  • Participate in survey on compensation practices and conditions of service. 
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. 

 

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 year of experience in Human Resources, preferably with 4-5 star hotels in Hong Kong. 
  • University graduate in related discipline. 
  • Well-versed in Employment Ordinance. 
  • Proficient in computer knowledge and typing skill. 
  • Fluent spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
