Executive Officer (Ref. 240524020-IE)

Duties 

The appointee will assist in the general programme administration of the Unit and be required to:

(a) manage and oversee grant applications, research postgraduate programme, administration of research students and research-related activities of the Unit;

(b) support new research initiatives, special projects or events as deemed necessary by the Departmental Research Committee;

(c) maintain professional and effective internal and external communications with relevant parties;

(d) provide secretarial support to various committees and meetings;

(e) coordinate and monitor the preparation and submission of proposals, reports and presentations;

(f) supervise junior staff and provide advice to subordinates; and

(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.

The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours occasionally.

Qualifications

Applicants should have: 

(a) a recognized degree with at least five years’ relevant post-qualification work experience;

(b) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;

(c) good computer literacy;

(d) good communication, interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills; and 

(e) a strong sense of responsibility and be a good team player.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
