Job Description

The Department

Our Property Department oversees club-wide project and construction management, contract administration and property development.

The purpose of this job is to monitor the building energy usage, maintain the energy database, preparation of energy reports, monthly utilities recharge statement, budget setting and identify areas for enhancing energy efficiency of building services systems. The job holder also acts as project in charge to planning, design and implementing energy management opportunities and conservation projects.

The Job

You will:

  • Monitor building energy usage, analyze trends, identify areas for enhancing energy operating efficiency of building services systems, reasons for usage variance and bill validation
  • Develop and maintain energy database including utilities billing, electricity consumption, building and major system energy performance and recharge records
  • Prepare regular facilities management energy reports, internal utilities recharge reports, chiller plant performance analysis and annual utilities consumption/expenditure management report
  • Prepare and monitor annual utilities budgets, key performance index of building energy, capital work and ensure that expenses are maintained within budgets. This includes ensuring proper handling of tender exercises, contract awarding, procurement and payment in compliance with Club’s requirements
  • Conduct feasibility study, cost benefit analysis and operational review to identify potential saving measures. Planning, design and implementing energy / carbon audit and conservation projects
  • Act as in-house consultant to establish design criteria, directs the preparation of technical drawings, specifications, tender documents and monitors work progress for minor alterations, additions and improvement works. Review and comment building services project designs to ensure highest possible energy efficiency standard
  • Engage and co-ordinate consultants and contractors and supervise their work to ensure their services are rendered competently, within budget and program according to service level determined
  • Handle staff conflict and complaint. Motivate staff to perform. Monitor the performance of all contractors; Conduct regular review of system performance and work processes with objective to improve overall productivity and effectiveness of all levels of staff and operational efficient. Implement data collection, using data through data analysis to assess and identify various innovative solutions and use of technology to resolve shortfall and seek for continuous improvements

About You

You should have:

  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering or related discipline; and preferably been a member of relevant professional organisations
  • At least 7 years relevant experience in energy management; solid experience in managing energy conservation projects is highly preferable
  • Experience in implementing the Building Energy Codes
  • Experience on identification, plan and implementation of energy saving opportunities. ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and communications with key stakeholders including colleagues within Property, other departments and divisions in the Club, external government departments, consultants, contractors, FM providers and suppliers. 
  • Hands-on experience of using MS Office applications
