Position Summary

The Vendor Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing 5.11’s supplier and factory partners worldwide.  This role establishes and maintains 5.11’s policies to ensure that 5.11’s supplier and factory partners are selected and operate in compliance with applicable laws, 5.11’s policies, and industry best practices. 

Responsibilities
 

• Maintain and update 5.11’s policies and procedures for existing and new business partners to ensure that 5.11’s sourcing base operates in accordance with industry best practices and applicable laws. 
• Maintain all factory and supplier-related documentation, including Supplier Manuals, Certificates of Insurance, etc.
• Coordinate third-party audits of sourcing base in accordance with industry best practices.
• Communicate such policies and procedures to 5.11’s supplier and factory partners via a training program.
• Implement new technologies to streamline processes and improve documentation accessibility. 
• Coordinate chemical, safety, and quality testing in collaboration with Product Team.
• Assist Legal Team with intellectual property matters, such as Customs registrations and brand enforcement. 
• Maintain and publish factory export documentation for Trade Compliance Team. 
• Monitor new and upcoming regulatory changes that might impact 5.11’s sourcing base.
• Participate in industry/trade groups and provide updates regarding best practices.
• Perform ad-hoc assignments whenever necessary.

Requirements
 

• Bachelor’s degree or above in quality management, supply chain management or related disciplines.
• At least 8 years’ experience in vendor compliance or audit field; preferably in-house experience gained in retail/trading/garment industry in MNC.
• Familiar with compliance principles, practices and frameworks and excellent understanding of product testing standards; strong ability to implement the regulatory requirements across vendors/factories.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to work well with different levels and independently.
• Ability to manage different projects simultaneously and work under high pressure with fast moving business environment.
• Well-organized, accurate and self-motivated with strong sense of analytical and logical thinking.
• Attention to details, sound judgement and decision-making skills. 
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
