Job Description
SinoEnergy Capital (HK) Limited is a dynamic and fast-growing investment company focusing on the global shipping and energy industry active in ship owning, leasing, technical management, offshore oilfield support service and new energy business. We are looking for a senior and junior Analyst who is open for a new and challenging job to join our investment team. The Analyst will be working side-by-side with top professionals in a close-knit team with a history of making successful investments and managing a portfolio of vessels.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting in preparation of financial models, presentations, and reports to support investment decisions
- Conducting regular due diligence and budget reviews
- Providing support on portfolio analysis and administration
- Coordinating efforts from various departments (i.e. accounting, technical, and IT) to meet operational needs
- Daily execution on both ad-hoc and long-term projects
- Explaining complex financial topics to non-financial personnel within the organization
- Analysing market and business data to advise potential opportunities for growth
- Creating reports that monitor progress on projects and measure performance against goals
- Communicating with clients to provide information, answer questions, or resolve problems
- Answering calls and responding to emails from clients or other departments
- Planning and coordinating events such as corporate meetings and trips
- Providing general support to the team as and when needed
Job qualifications:
- For senior analyst:
- A master’s degree from a top university with strong academic records, majoring in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering (Legal background a plus)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in investment banking, M&A, advisory or buy-side investment role
- For junior analyst:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Finance or Accounting from a top ranked school, or equivalent)
- 0-2 years of work experience (preferably from IB, PE or Auditing)
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel and PPT
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin
- Passionate about financial modelling, research and data analytics
- Ability to proactively manage multiple projects simultaneously, with frequent priority changes
- Excellent problem-solving, attentive to details, independent and self-motivated
- Strong networking skills, able to build effective internal and external relationships
- Able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressured and team-based environment
