The Teaching and Learning Centre at Lingnan University is seeking a motivated and skilled Research Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in analysing various data sources, such as course evaluations and student surveys, to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in teaching and learning practices. The candidate will also conduct benchmark studies and research on the effectiveness of various teaching pedagogies, contributing directly to the enhancement of educational quality at Lingnan University.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive analysis of various data sources, including course evaluations and student feedback, to identify trends and issues for improvement
• Conduct benchmarking studies and in-depth research on teaching pedagogies to evaluate their effectiveness
• Collaborate with faculties and administrative staff to implement research findings and improve teaching strategies and learning outcomes
• Contribute to the development of policies and best practices for teaching and learning excellence
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate research findings and recommendations to the university community

Requirements

• A Research Postgraduate degree (e.g. MPhil, PhD) in Education, Education Policies, Data Analysis or related areas
• Demonstrated experience in educational research, particularly in analysing qualitative and quantitative data
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment
• Proficiency in analytical software and MS tools (e.g. SPSS, Power BI) is highly desirable

Candidates with less/more experience will be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, and gratuity.
