Job Description
About The Role
Reporting to the Vice President Human Resources, Group Assistant Director of Learning and Development will be pivotal in driving the Company's talent development strategies to align with company’s business objectives and goals by providing leadership in the design, development and implementation of relevant training and development programs to meet current and future growth needs of Wharf Hotels.
Key Responsibilities
- Learning and Development Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with company's goals and objectives at a group level. This involves identifying training needs, defining learning objectives, and establishing a roadmap for associates’ development.
- Training Program Design and Delivery: Oversee the design, development, and delivery of training programs to address the learning needs of employees at various levels and departments within the Wharf Hotels group.
- Learning Needs Assessment: Conduct regular assessments to identify skill gaps and learning needs across the organization. Collaborate with department heads and Hotel Learning & Development Leaders to gather input and determine priority areas for training and development interventions.
- Training Content Development: Work closely with subject matter experts and instructional designers to create engaging and effective training content. Ensure that the content is relevant, up-to-date, and meet the training needs of the hotel group.
- Training Facilitation and Coaching: Provide guidance and support to trainers and facilitators within the organization. Conduct train-the-trainer sessions and offer coaching to ensure consistent and impactful delivery of training programs.
- Talent Management and Succession Planning: Partner with HR and leadership teams to identify high-potential employees and implement talent management initiatives, including succession planning programs. Develop career development frameworks and pathways to nurture and retain top talent.
- Learning Technologies and Platforms: Stay abreast of emerging learning technologies and digital platforms to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of training delivery. Evaluate and implement appropriate learning management systems or e-learning platforms to support learning initiatives.
- Evaluation and Measurement: Establish evaluation metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of learning and development programs. Conduct regular assessments, gather feedback, and analyze data to continuously improve training initiatives and demonstrate ROI.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage the learning and development budget for the hotel group. Allocate resources effectively, negotiate contracts with external training providers, and ensure cost-efficient utilization of training funds.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships and collaborate with various stakeholders, including senior executives, department heads, and HR teams across the hotel group. Understand their needs and align learning and development initiatives with business goals.
- Team members Engagement projects management including annual colleagues engagement surveys and performance review management initiatives.
- Industry Best Practices: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in learning and development. Attend conferences, participate in professional development activities, and network with peers to bring innovative ideas and approaches to the hotel group.
Qualifications
Education:
- A Degree with major in Training & Human Resource Development or related discipline.
Certification:
- D.I.S.C Certified Behavioral Consultant and Administrator
- Other Training related certificate is preferred.
Experience:
- 12 to 15 years training and development experience in a senior managerial capacity in hotel or service-related industry.
Competences:
- Corporate level human resources and/or training & development experience will be advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills.
- Possess strong communication and influencing skills
- Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
- Effective in working and interacting with EXCOM and colleagues at all levels
- Adaptable working with multi-nationalities workforce and environment
- Flexibility on travel
