Assistant Clerk of Works / Assistant Building Services Inspector - (REF. NO.: HKEC240614)

Pay : HK$29,424 to HK$53,733 (HGPS point 11 to 23) per month including Monthly Allowance
Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Cluster Manager (Facilities Management) or his delegates in the management of minor works projects and day-to-day (DTD) buildings and facilities maintenance at hospitals and institutions in Hong Kong East Cluster. Major duties are:
1. Assist in leading technical staff and contractors in the implementation of projects and day-to-day building maintenance works.
2. Supervise and monitor the performance of contractors, consultants and other parties.
3. Provide technical support to daily project works in relation to the building / E&M works matters.
4. Monitor the standard and quality of materials and workmanship of building / E&M works against the contract requirements and other recognized standards.
5. Carry out regular inspections for monitoring progress of works in accordance with program.
6. Coordinate with Safety Officers of contractors, Safety Auditor of consultants and other parties for monitoring safety and health matters.
7. Witness all open-up inspections and field testing in relation to building / E&M works on behalf of the Cluster.
8. Prepare and submit inspection & progress reports.
9. Prepare, update and compile a defects and outstanding work list after the completion of project up to the end of Defect Liability Period.
10. Liaise with contractors, consultants and other parties on all matters relating to users’ requirements, access, disturbance, program etc. for efficient execution of works on site.
11. Arrange working meetings with user departments, contractors, consultants and other parties on behalf of the Cluster.
12. Assist in the analysis of all claims.
13. Work according to on-call/duty roster, attend emergency call and perform typhoon duty.
14. Any other duties as assigned by the supervisors and Cluster Management.
Entry Requirements
1. A Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building Services Engineering or Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or Building Studies from Hong Kong Polytechnic / Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Hong Kong Technical College / Hong Kong Technical Institute / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education; or equivalent.
2. (a) Grade E or above in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in HKCEE
OR
(b) Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSE, or equivalent.
3. At least 3 years of relevant experience such as building services installation works and/or building projects after attaining the required academic qualification.
4. Obtained valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card).
Preferred Attributes / Exposure
1. Knowledge of common office automation (e.g. e-mail, internet/intranet, word processor, excel, PowerPoint, etc.), AutoCAD and PC applications.
2. Good interpersonal communication and presentation skill.
3. Responsible, self-motivated and able to work independently under minimum supervision.
4. Outgoing, able to work under pressure and stressful situation, including crises.
5. Able to work on shift and on-site/off-site on call duties.
6. Has formal training in occupational safety and health is an advantage.
