The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation established by statute in 1967 to promote productivity excellence through relentless drive of world-class advanced technologies and innovative service offerings to support Hong Kong enterprises. To meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving business environment, we are looking for a seasoned executive for the post of General Manager, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence to lead the development of related emerging technologies for HKPC.

What you will do:

  • Formulate, drive and execute the division’s strategies in line with the corporate mission and innovative technology development in the areas of Robotics & Artificial Intelligence- based automation services. Build a sustainable business model and achieve all financial and non-financial key performance indicators
  • Lead the development of a multi-generation technology development plan and take on corporate-wide initiatives as assigned by the Directorate Office
  • Develop Robotics & Artificial Intelligence-based automation technologies and applications and promote the solutions for industry-wide adoption with impact
  • Lead the professional teams to provide market-driven applied R&D and technology consultancy services in support of New Productive Force technology development
  • Develop and leverage the technical competencies to create new business opportunities pertinent to industry needs in Hong Kong, Mainland and overseas
  • Establish and maintain strong network and develop appropriate platforms to strengthen the partnership amongst HKPC, academia, new research and development institutions and industries
  • Develop technology partnerships and strengthen engagement with industry associations and existing and potential research and commercial partners worldwide
  • Provide coaching, leadership, development opportunities and guidance to continuously upgrade the division’s talents and overall capabilities
  • Safeguard all operational and financial processes within the division to comply with the latest corporate governance requirements

 

You will be a good fit if you have/are: 

  • A university degree, preferably with a master’s degree, in engineering, technology or equivalent disciplines
  • At least 20 years’ working experience, with 10 years or more relevant experience in senior management roles gained largely with sizeable/ multinational organisations or high growth technological companies
  • Proven track record in automation technology development and applications, technology localisation and commercialisation
  • Sound relationship with the industry, trade associations, professional bodies and research institutes in Hong Kong, Mainland and overseas
  • Excellent business acumen
  • Self-motivation, strong leadership competencies and with foresight in technology development
  • Good planning, organising and financial management skills and ability to account for the effectiveness of a cross-professional team and corporate governance
  • Strong interpersonal skills and can work harmoniously with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in working with HKSAR and/or Mainland Government an advantage
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English

HKPC will take into consideration both the quantitative and qualitative requirements of the post when selecting the suitable candidates.  A competitive salary package commensurate with academic qualifications and experience will be offered.  The successful candidate will be employed on a fixed-term contract basis, which is renewable subject to appointee’s performance and the Council’s development needs.
