Job Description
OFFICE OF FACULTY OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL SCIENCES
Assistant Technical Officer (Ref. 240605013)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) look after the daily operation and management of technical facilities of the Faculty Office and its laboratories;
(b) provide technical support to ensure the smooth operation of the Faculty Office and its laboratories;
(c) develop and maintain the AV systems and IT facilities of the Faculty Office and its laboratories;
(d) assist Faculty’s teaching staff in the usage of multimedia teaching and e-learning management system;
(e) update and maintain the Faculty Office’s website;
(f) maintain an accurate inventory of all hardware equipment and office furniture for the Faculty Office;
(g) provide support to the Faculty’s events and activities;
(h) liaise with other departments/units within the University and external organisations when necessary for the management of the aforementioned and other related facilities; and
(i) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Faculty or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines with at least three years’ relevant post-qualification experience;
(b) be proficient in using CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery and HTML;
(c) be proactive, self-motivated and hardworking in undertaking the day-to-day assigned duties; and
(d) be fluent in English and Chinese.
Preference will be given to those with working experience in laboratories in tertiary institutions.

Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
