Job Description

Department/ Hospital: Operating Services Department (include Operating Room, Endoscopy Centre and Day Surgery Centre), United Christian HospitalPay: HK$23,486 - HK$27,789 per monthUp to 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1.    To report and assist to the Unit (e.g. Operating Room, Endoscopy Centre or Day Surgery Centre) Ward Managers (or delegated Subject Leader (e.g. Nurse i/c of this subject, WS II or WS I etc.)) of Operating Services (OS) Department, the main duties of the post include:

  • To assist in installation, operation, manage corrective and preventive maintenance, and conduct routine monitoring of system, equipment and environmental condition in Operating

Room and other Units of OS Department Facilities & Equipment (F&E) Team.

  • To follow the progress of facilities and equipment maintenance, assets management and stock management and report to Subject Officer periodically.
  • To assist and coordinate maintenance, repair, alteration addition and improvement works carried out by facilities and equipment maintenance contractors.
  • To assist in problem solving and trouble-shooting of issues related to facilities and equipment.
  • To assist integrated electronic imaging systems, audio-visual and biomedical equipment in Operating

Rooms by installation, set up, operation and maintenance. -  Be responsible to assets management and periodical asset stock-taking.

  • To assist in the facilities and equipment related infection control measures.
  • To assist in F&E related training program.
  • To conduct routine environmental checking to ensure facilities and equipment function normally and safety.
  • To assist in procurement of medical consumables, furniture, facilities and equipment items.2.

   To perform shift duty (include Saturday and Sunday) as scheduled and as required.3.    To perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisors.

Entry Requirements:1. Tertiary education with experience in the relevant / specialized discipline; OR2. F.5/ S.5 with:  

i) HKCEE 5 passes including English Language and Chinese Language; OR   ii) 5 subjects in HKDSE attaining the level specified below:       - Level 2 in English Language and Chinese Language; and      - Level 2 in new Senior Secondary subjects / “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum 2 subjects under this category) / Grade E in Other Language subjects.

And well experienced in relevant discipline.

Preferred Attributes:1.    Experience in maintenance of medical equipment and procurement is preferred2.    Knowledge in common computer software, including MS Office, Chinese Word Processing.3.    Good communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills and good command of written and spoken Chinese.4.    Self-motivated, responsible and able to work independently.
