We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Science and Technology:

 

Part-time Research Assistant I (R6617) (S&T) (Ref: 240018T)

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will mainly assist the research team of a research project "A Pilot Study of Identifying Fusion Genes and Their Underlining Formation Mechanism in Carcinogenesis for Potential Targeting Drug Development and Cancer Diagnosis" (R6617). He / She will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • Conducting various experiments in laboratories;
  • Conducting analysis on samples;
  • Providing support in literature review and data analysis;
  • Working with the Principal Investigator / supervisors to prepare report writing; and
  • Conducting other research activities as instructed by the Principal Investigator.

 

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A Master’s degree or above in Biomedical or Biological Science, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a related discipline;
  • A strong background in at least one of the following areas: molecular diagnostics, molecular genetics and/or cell culturing; 
  • Detail-oriented, hardworking, responsible, able to meet deadlines and ability to work independently; and
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese.

 

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

Successful candidates will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract.  Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
