Responsibilities

• Development of strategic business initiatives as well as maintenance of existing application systems
• Participate in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and implementing computer programs
• Produce necessary documentation whenever applicable
• Analyse and define user requirements
• Design and develop systems specifications
• On call for emergency production incidents and provide fire fighting support

Requirements:

• For Application Architect, over 10 years' mission-critical system development experience preferably in the financial sector (for Application Specialist, over 3 years' experience)
• Proficient in J2EE technologies and web-based development, particularly in EJB, XML, XSL, Servlets, JMS, HTML, JSP, JavaScript, and SQL. Prior working experience in Spring, Jasper Reports, Hibernate, Websphere MQ, Struts, Log4J, WAS, DB2, GnuPG, and SWIFTNet FileAct will be a definite advantage
• Strong schema design and DB2 DBA background are desirable for the roles related to database design
• Good technical writing skill and prior working experience in investment bank is preferable

The Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited (HKICL) is a private company owned by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Hong Kong Association of Banks (HKAB). The key objective of the company is to develop and operate a safe and efficient multi-currency and multi-dimensional financial infrastructure in Hong Kong. It operates an integrated financial infrastructure platform for:

• interbank large value funds transfers denominated in HKD, USD, Euro and RMB;
• interbank money settlement of equity and debt securities transactions in Hong Kong via linkage established with the Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company Limited and Central Moneymarkets Unit system (CMU);
• interbank small value funds transfer denominated in HKD and RMB, i.e. the HKD and RMB faster payment systems (FPS);
• interbank clearing and/or money settlement of retail payments in Hong Kong such as paper cheques, autodebits, autocredits, credit card payments, etc.; and
• the HKMA’s CMU system, as a computer operator.
