We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Science and Technology: 

Part-time Research Assistant II (R5126) (S&T) (Ref: 240018W)

Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee(s) will mainly assist the research team in a research project “A Lightweight Framework for Point Cloud Analysis” (R5126).  He / She will be responsible mainly for the following:

• Conducting research tasks about point cloud analysis;
• Investigating lightweight frameworks for point cloud applications, such as detection, segmentation and classification;
• Preparing project reports and other related documents;
• Conducting related experiments and analyzing the results; and
• Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

• A Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science and Engineering or a related discipline;
• Related research experience in point cloud processing will be preferred;
• Strong programming ability in C++, Python and MATLAB;
• Good writing skills in research articles; and
• Self-motivated, strong learning capability and fluent in English.  

Terms and Conditions for Appointment
Successful candidate(s) will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.

Duration of Appointment
Six months commencing from July 2024
